Hi everybody, this is the first list@irishtune.info post since the public
launch of the site this past Monday night.
I think you all just received an automated password reminder at midnight,
Dec. 1. I have now turned that setting off, because I assume many of you
would find monthly e-mails of that nature annoying.
In case you didn't keep your initial list welcome e-mail, you can keep a
copy of this latest (and last) password reminder, or just keep the password
itself somewhere where you can find it in the odd chance you want to go
change your list settings at the list homepage.
As long as I have your attention, I might as well say something relevant to
the real purpose of this list. No big news, just a status report: I have
not yet started indexing my backlog of new-to-me CDs. Instead I'm
re-indexing the book CRE 2. As those of you know who were familiar with the
old site, the feature of exposing my tune bibliographies for all tunes is
brand new. I hadn't planned on that originally for this launch, and so I
had never finished thoroughly indexing CRE 2. This means tune title changes
and additional or revised CRE 2 sources will be popping up here and there
in the near future.
One last technical note: you are all welcome to write to this list for
public discussion, however all posts will go by me for approval to check if
they are relevant to the list topic (which is: the Web site
irishtune.info). I'd like to encourage you to use the Public Forum at
http://www.irishtune.info/forum/ for other discussions, such as Irish tune
information in general or friendly chat. And for broader Irish music
discussion, there's always IRTRAD-L. Enjoy yourselves out there,
